TMNT exploring continued...

I took my last round of line work and redid it very thin lined with some thicker lines to separate objects .I want to experiment with some cleaner styles.I will take a break from it and com back and see if i like it .

Brick Tank WIP

I really just wanted  to do a semi futuristic Mega tank nicknamed "The Brick Tank "so here's the first roughs .I did a lot of figuring out on this one to the point that i could see through the paper:)

  you can see that I explored little bits off  to the sides knowing that i would be retracing it all after .


Inks!
  I inked the original but kinda didn't like how it looked .the lines were too fat and kind of killed some of the energy soooo.....

I light boxed over the inks !I left it as pencils and just cleaned it up in Photoshop .it gave me the chance to fix a few things .Some of its pretty organic but i like that.

This a rough color /value pass .this could change quite a bit once i dig into it .

TMNT WIP

I have loved ninja turtles since for ever and I haven't drawn any in a while so I was over due to make some TMNT fan art!My first ever black and white ninja turtle comic was issue 10 and it gave me a very new appreciation for what comics could be .I bought many issues after and  read those comics ragged .

Here is  the first thumb i did .looks like hes sort of coming out of a door which i ditched but the pose was working for me .

This is me drilling down to the final Composition .If i haven't said it already tracing stuff like this out on a light box has been a life saver!

i removed the teeth because he is a turtle but then he looked old! teeth it is :)

my final Line work .I didn't ink it just cleaned up the pencils in Photoshop. It could probably be cleaner but part of me likes the more organic bits .

Z-brush/Sculptris project - monster bird

In an effort to broaden my skill set i will be 3D sculpting something .I always go in and muck around with Z brush  but rarely do i have a target in my head .I though i would try and draw up an idea so i can focus on a an end goal as i work :)

I'm going to Attempt to sculpt this :

Here is the very first sketch i did before light boxing  .Of course its too ambitious right off the bat .I ended up ditching the top hat and watch thing  but if  I succeed at the creature i may add the elements back in .

Here's the rough sketch after removing the extra stuff and also playing with more of a bird style leg(you can only see it faintly in the image ) .Even for a monster it was weird and awkward so i kept the strait leg .

Darksiders 2 sky box screenshots round #1

     I'm finally playing through Darksiders 2 and i thought id take some screenshots as i went. My contribution to the project was the sky boxes and some icons and everything else in these shots is the hard work of some super talented people .You all know who you are!

P-53 Diesel Punk plane

Playing around with keeping my line work intact .light boxed pencils this time around but  next time i may try inking .I'm a bit heavy handed typically with ink so I will have to try a thin brush or pens .
