this was done as a little 5x7 sketch trade card with http://virginiacritchfield.blogspot.com/ .she got me into working in this format .i find it freeing enough to do random subjects but also quality enough to keep or paint if i chose to .its been quite a blast .

blazzer laser!

this is a liquid based laser gun used in some sectors of space by small colony law enforcement.Its and older laser gun but preferred over newer models because of its comfortable wooden grip and simple styling.

Portable Recon Spider Bot

this is something infantry would carry with then and chuck into abandoned buildings for recon .the retracting handle on top is a cue to its scale .about the size of a PC case.

KOI lamp work in progress

back to real life painting ohhhhhhh yyeeaaaaaaaaaa!! !!!so i did a dragon lamp a while ago and it was good fun so i figured id do another .I started the Koi lamp months back but i shelved it for a bit and just got back to it tonight .Half is how it was before tonight (see left ) the other half after.

Heres the dragon lamp done !I think it turned out decent .Its not so hot looking lit but i think its still alright and a good lesson learned about painting lamps:)

Dragon lamp wip 1

I had a couple of these lamps kick'n around for a while now and i havent been using them so i figured id try painting one..heres it is so far .Sort of tattoo art meets japan meets ........a dragon.the blue stuff is masking tape.

Pirate Ray gun WIP2

so this is sort of a figure out the details pass on the ray gun .Still working in one tone then next i add different values to different materials and light and shadow .THEN i add big scary awesome color!!!

Heart for the pinkrock bathroom

i started and finished the painting last night .we bought some little stamps we were going to try and put on the walls but once got the pink on it didnt seem like a great idea .I took one of the stamps we had and took the idea of it turned it into this painting.

first pass on the pirate raygun

heres my first session painting on my pirate ray gun peice .so far im happy with it and ive been peek n at for the last few days and thinking of tweeks.Yaaaaaaarrrrr zap!!!!
